It could also be that you didnt connect the audio cable to the back of the drive. as well as the power and connectore cable there is a small audio cable that you attatch to one of your cd drive(s) this allows it to play audio cd's

The cd should work if it isn't damaged but it might be that you dont have a program for playing cds or if you have two drives try using the outher drive. I hope I helped
