I think you will find its the inverter gone. What happens is one of the 8 transformers goes bad, the TV starts up, however the inverter control chip senses something is not right and shuts it down. If you strip the TV, and measure the resistance of the transformers, it should be apparent which is faulty. I bought a replacement transformer for £15 but this needed soldering to fit. You can buy a reworked inverter for about £65. There is a website devoted to this type of fault !. P.S. what do computer specialists know about fixing TV's ?.
