help me fix cd player Aiwa, modelcx-nhmt75?

everything works except the cd player. When a disc is inserted the spindle only turns a little bit for three times then moves on to the next disc. Should this model when the disc is inserted and the unit is formatting the disc have the spindle turning all the time?

LOL tmg, learn how to spell properly and people will actually think you are a professional engineer. I'm only 16, I dont know it all, but I am really into electronics. ( I have built several amps so far from chips.) and I enjoy listening to Marantz SP-1200's every day... and audiophiles dream. Sorry, not to boast :-P

actually you can fix it yourself. I've heard of many aiwa cd players going bad, a friend gave me one because the cd player didnt work. Heres a link to fix it, I just got mine working tonight by following the directions on this link. http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2004/3/24/45212/6874

buy a disk cleaner or strip down unit and clean laser lense as first step, if this does not cure problem may have faulty laser or possibly spindle motor.

changing laser and spindle motor woul be best dont by qualified engineer such as myself as further damaged could by caused.
