How do I wire the on/off switch for a Dyson DC01 Absolute?

I am replacing the mains power (long) flex, which connects the vac to the mains socket, as we are experiencing intermittent loss of power to the appliance. This entails rewiring to the on/off button. Does the brown live wire coming from the appliance motor connect to one of the button terminals?, and the brown mains power live wire connect to the other available terminal on the button? With the blue wire from the appliance motor being connected to the blue mains power wire, via a simple plastic connector? Thanks.

Hi, go to www.sparesaver.com and look at their 'Help & Support' section. They have superb full instructions including colour photographs of troubleshooting Dyson problems.

Yep - its the live brown wire thats switched. The blue neutral one just passes through via its connector.
