Bummer, if you lived nearby, I've got the CD.
Yeah, the new internet explorer blocks any download to your computer. However, you should see the "Information bar" pop up when you try to download the driver. The information bar will show up at the top of the website's window just below the address bar or the "tabs" on IE7. When that comes up, hold down the "ctrl" key on your keyboard and click the information bar (not the “x), but anywhere in the blue) and then click the "download file" while still holding the ctrl key. The download dialog box should pop up and allow you to save the file. The safest place to get the driver is from Lexmark's site. The link is here: http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?lxkprod=Lexmark+X83
When downloading from Lexmark, they bring you to a new small window that will show the information bar and you can follow the same steps I mentioned above.
If the computer you are trying to install the X86 on is running Windows Vista, you will not be able to just install the driver/software. If this is the case, there are several steps that you will have to do before the printer will work. Installing the software without performing the steps will cause the printer and scanner not to work, and might even mess up the performance of your computer. If you need help with this, let me know.
Best of luck, and feel free to email me if you get stuck again and I will try to help.
