With the stop motion free as if to wind a bobbin can you turn the balance wheel all the way round? if you can then it sounds like the timing is out, if you can't turn the balance wheel with the stop motion free and you have an internal motor it may be the belt has come off and jammed between the motor pulley and motor, I can send retiming instructions if you e-mail me
