I have a Electrolux Epic Series 6500 SR Vacuum cleaner.

The vacuum will not start.
I changed and put in a new filter. I put in a new vacuum bag.
I push the start button and it starts and shuts off within 1 second.
Please advise.

THE CONTROL VALUE (UNDERNEATH THE DIAL ON TOP OF THE MACHINE) NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IT CONTROLS WHEN THE BAG INDICATES IT FULL.

When the vacuum shuts off is the "?" light on? Mine did this for a while due to an old bag I was using. After starting, once the vacuum had reached full suction, apparently the bag would move off thee switch enough to shhut down the motor. Opening and closing the door usually took care of it and once I replaced the bag it was no longer an issue.

It is probably the on-off switch that needs replacing.
