I had the same problem. I managed to release it by removing the pin that holds the belt anchor/ seat hook assembly, and releasing the belt anchor. Then I raised the seat to the upright position, pulled the belt out from the seat and secured it with a clamp. Then I folded the seat again and replaced the belt anchor and reassembled the pin. The belt is still being held by the clamp until I can get a replacement cover for the top of the seat, which is broken.

I had this problem. I had to remove the seat from the car so I could get the back of the seat vertical, and separate the back of the seat from the base to get enough slack. Fairly straightforward. You will need TORX (Star shaped) screwdrivers. 4 x T40 screw hold the seat in place, 2 x T50 form the pivot for the seat back - these need to be removed. Several T20 self-tapping screws hold various plastic covers in place. These must be removed to disconnect the two cords that are attached to the seat hooks. Disconnect them at the bottom. Look carefully how they are fitted before you remove them.
