How can I fix my Hotpoint BWM129 washing machiene?

The cycle will not finish as it wont spin and pump out the water

We have the same problem with our BWM129. I think its the main controller which contains the cpu & motor control circuit.

Does any one know how to plug into the diagnostics port and what application/program is required?

Check out simple things first: Look at the carbon brushes in the motor. Theyre graphite blocks which transfer mains power to the copper segments of the motor. v. cheap parts and easy to replace. Look at the copper segments to check for burning or pitting. If the copper segments are burnt or damaged its a replacement motor or a replacement armature if you can source one. May be a fault in the motor drive circuit board?

Check the filter unit for blockages.
Disconnect pump from sump hose and check for obstruction in either item.
Locate the pressure switch - a round item about 3 inches across. Its an air operated switch which tells the machine water has reached the correct level. Disconnect the rubber pipe from the switch and blow down through it to clear any blockage. Switch itself may be faulty.
