My Ariston ACO 32 MFFI Combi bangs!?

My Ariston boiler (as above) keeps banging - error codes come up for not igniting first and/or second times and when the boiler does fire there is a loud bang (like a car backfiring) and I noticed flame coming out of the exhaust flue!
It some times shuts itself down (ignition failure code) but re lights ok (problem is intermittant but when 'failing/banging' it happens continuously.
B Gas serviced the boiler in July but only took off the front and looked at it - no work done (so I cancelled the service contract in disgust).

hi try changing the ignition electode ,as they are in the flame for along time thay tend to bend away from the burner causing a build up of gas that creates the loud bang on lighting.

Did you ever find out what caused this because mine intermittently does the same. I paid Ariston a lot of money to fix it but they sent a subcontractor who clearly thought he'd fixed it, I think he did his best, but I was left with an intermittent fault that sometimes leaked Carbon Monoxide gas and made me very ill.

Ariston are trying to wriggle out of it. I don't know what to do. I have had no heating or hot water for three weeks and extensive oxygen treatment for the effects of CO poisoning.

The boiler is just over 3 years old and Ariston told me it was perfectly safe and had loads of cut outs. Their sub contractor fired it up without the cover or the condensing chamber cover on and a four foot fireball shot out and set fire to the wiring.

I'm horrified at the lack of care and safety procedures. For god's sake get a good quality carbon monoxide alarm if you have one of these boilers.

Ive just had this problem with my ariston aco boiler.

It would not ignite correctly and was coming up with errors 501 506 and A07 (all relate to not being able to ignite).

There were two problems - the part that creates the spark to ignite the gas had been bent somehow and was only making a very small spark so it wasn't always lighting the gas. Also there was a problem with the flu, it had come away in the middle of the pipe. This mean that the boiler wasn't getting any oxygen from the air to ignite.

There is the potential that carbon monoxide is escaping into your house so get someone out to look at it!
