Hitachi video remote changes toshiba tv channel?

Hope you can help! Whenever I use my Hitachi VT-FX950E remote to control the video, it changes my Toshiba YT2856 television to channel 9! If I use buttons on the actual video machine, it is fine. Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Thanks.

Hi Geoff, no I don't think so. I've been through the manual trying to resolve the problem and don't recall it mentioning different modes.

does your Hitachi have multiple modes?
for example the panasonic has three so you can used three Panasonic devices with three remotes without interfering with each other
