my rads have thermoststic valves , i want to remove a rad to decorate but when i crack a union there is still pressure in the rad,even though both valves are closed ,it seems that the thermo valve is not shutting 100 %,how can i get over this without draining the system?

on the thermostatic type valve you remove the top (dial) & there's a cap that you have to put on to shut them off totally try local diy to purchase the cap
