My Stereo, a Logik LM102UE, the left speaker ouput doesn't work?

My stereo speaker output stopped working, i swapped the two speakers over to check thet both worked and they both work fine. its just the output. Its only just out of warranty (typical) any ideas on how to fix it? I've got a soldering iron and i know how to use it!

You can confirm if the output socket is faulty by plugging in stereo headphones. If sound is produced on both channels then check the socket but if one channel is operating only then likely an output amplifier problem. This would usually require a replacement i.c.

It sounds (no pun) like the socket is faulty on the left channel...can you get to the back of it easily and safely? Its likely that the socket has lost some of its springiness and you may be able to squeeze it back into shape with some pliers. If you get it working - leave it plugged in as they don't like being separated too often.
