How to fix a power fault on dyson dc 14, after switch cx?

Had an intermittent power fault on my dc14, seemed to be a switch/connection problem. Changed the switch reinstated all connections now don't get any power at all........Think the motor may have gone but open to any/all suggestions!!! Please help as wife is giving me grief about a broken hoover that I said was a 'quick fix' DOH.

I think you'll find the Dyson service fee is now £65, John.

Mind you, it's still good value. My DCo7 died a while back. Definitely needed a new motor PLUS a post motor filter (Old one full of s**t fro the filing motor).

Dyson came and fitted not only a new motor and post motor filter, but a new clutch, belts, cyclone and pre-motor filter.

Basically £130 + of bits, fitted, with a year's warranty for £65.

I think you'll find that the motor itself has packed in - they are quite heavily stressed and don't seem to last for as long as you'd expect. However, Dyson will repair any vacuum cleaner for £50 - but this doesn't include filters. As the motor is around £40 it makes some sense.
