Whirlpool 6th Sense - Fridge not cold, Freezer too cold?
Before getting an expensive call-out (as they won't give an idea of what problem may be), can anyone tell me why my fridge isn't cold but the freezer appears to get too cold (if poss), as there was a lot of ice around the fan but water collects in the fridge area? I've had conflicting info - fan or thermo/timer problem.
I had a similar problem until i contacted www.agsrefrigeration.co.uk who serve the the london area they came out and found and fix the fault.

i just looked at mine because it was doing the same thing. Mine is a whirpool gold Model GD5YHA i took all the trays off the top in the freezer and there is a white plastic piece that extends from the backtop of the fridge to the top. 2 screws held it together on top. unscrewed them and there was a tube that was full of frost that extended to the fridge side. Took it off and ran a little warm water on it to clear the ice and everything works fine now.

Hi, I have a Whirlpool ARC 7612 and I have recently had just the same problem.
This was fixed as follows:-
Unplug the fridge!!!
Remove the top two freezer section storage bins.
At the rear of the freezer compartment there is a plastic panel held in place with two cross head screws - remove these.
The panel will then kind of hinge down and can be extracted.
The blower fan can then be seen.
There is a circular channel that directs the air from the fan.
On the left hand side of this channel is an 'branch off' part that feeds the cold air up to the fridge section and this was blocked by a chunk of icy frost.
Removing this. :-)
Plug it back in and give it about 4 hrs to settle back down.
Fixed completely!!!! ;-)
As a separate note the bulb had popped for some strange reason . To remove it just pull it towards the rear of the fridge (after removing the cover first ;-)).
