is it legal to repair washing machines for a company if your not trained?
I have been a tv repairman for 5 years, however the company i work for have now asked me to repair washing machines..trouble is the have only provided me with 2 days training and I am concerned about working with water and electricity. Is it a legal requirment for me to have certain experience or certificates to work on white goods?
i dont know how they can expect you to service washing machines after 2 days training!i have worked on appliances all my working life and when i joined a big well known manufactuer they would not let me near a machine untill i had completed 6 weeks course. so i would not repair anything with out any certified training

No The HSE Will in the event something goes wrong want your employer to prove you have been trained and competent (validated )
As a TV repairman you should be up to Speed with P.A.T
