Driving along quite happily in my N reg Mondeo estate when it just died on me. The engine is turning over, plenty of electrics and diesel, but it now won't start?
It helps to know whether it died suddenly or at all gradually. If sudden but the engine didn't jam or bang - it's lack of fuel in the cylinders either because the injection pump has stopped turning (belt?) or an electrical fault going to the pump. When you try to start it, is there a smell of unburnt fuel coming out of the exhaust?

could be problem with stop solenoid, may be timing belt broken? might be fuel blockage?
