The washing machine stopped working before spinning, i gathered that it must be the pump since it worked if i let out the water manually. I cleaned out the pump as there was indeed sludge inside the 'fan' compartment. I have not replaced the pump motors. But now the machine does do nothing. I can set the program and the door clicks locked when starting, but nothing happens on none of the programmes. i hear a faint buzzing noise from the PCB, but this may be normal. Any ideas? is it possible that failed pumps block the machine completely?

as soon as you switch it on you should hear door lock then drain should operate.is the buzz from a siezed pump and not from the pcb?.sounds like drain pump has failed and it is a common fault on washing machines

most likely a blockage in the pressure switch tubing.
