HP Compaq nx6110 letter D came loose?

I want to know how to mend the key that came loose.
Their are 2 white pieces of plastic one fits on the button and the other on the keyboard, but I can't seem so connect these 2 togehter. Does someone have a hint or tip how to do it.
Thanks

Well its hard to tell how u can fix the key but i can tell u that I have attached 3 keys myself. All the Compaq laptops obviously have the same way of attaching the keys to the board. Underneath the key is a steel square ring which can be connected to the board or the base. But u need to connect one side of the steel ring first and then try and stretch the key a bit and then press it on the other side on the board. Look closely and u will find the pattern which I'm trying to show u thru these words.
