indesit wd10 washing machine program dial just keeps turning and clicking?

The biggest problem I had was the black plug only turned a quarter of the way round. I had to get a wrench and force it past that point. It was debree inside that stopped the plug from moving any further.

Thank you. I have followed advice provided re taking out filter (found a washer) and re-programming. Now seems to be working.

Terry's answer did the trick for me. There was a 20p coin and a piece of fabric blocking the filter. Be aware, any water left in the machine will drain onto the floor so have you towels at the ready.

Hi, I feel like bob the builder today!!!! Thanks to this site I located the filter of my washing machine and found two pound coins in there which were making the dial go round and round constantly !!! Saved me £50 which it would have cost to get an expert around. Thank you for your commments

(1) Turn of at the wall.but leave dial on
(2) turn dial to match a end of program (black line)
(3) switch on at the wall leave it for about a minute (light flashes)
(4) turn off at dial .select program then back on.

It reprograms itself.

worked for me .hope it does for you.

i removed the kick plate at bottom took out filter and found £1 coin and plastic bank money bag, when i removed this problem solved, i never would have thought for minute that this would have caused problem, saved me call out costs, and maybe being told it was something more expensive. heres hoping it helps others as looking at different forums it appears comon question.

problem solved, i took off the kick plate, and took out the filter, to find a pound coin and a plastic bank cash bag. heres hope anyone else will find something so simple, i dread to think of the old call out fee, and being told its something more expensive. did not think for a minute this would relate to program switch.
