Can I unsnap the joints in the arm of a 20-year old Tizio lamp?

I live in a very humid tropical environment (Rio de janeiro) with a 20-year old, large sized, black Tizio on my desk. Over time the humidity in my environment has caused the connections to rust, causing poor connections and causing the "joints" get very warm with use. I sense that taking them apart and cleaning them would help greatly. This is hard to do and I don't want to foce anything. Do they simply "un-snap" or do I need some special tool to dis-connect them?

Hi=-
I went to the Artimede store here in NYC and asked them about this. It is not just humid environments, its pretty much every one of these lights that has this problem.

They said unsnapping was not a problem, the snaps are similar to pieces you might find on clothes. I would try unsnapping and cleaning them, to see what would happen. The unsnapping part is not harmful (unplug first) to the light, but there is no guarantee that this is a fix. Hope this helps.
