How can i fix my Hygena APP2410 cooker hood?

Hygena APP2410 cooker hood. The extracting fan does not work, but the lighting on the hood does work. The speed buttons slow, medium, fast all seem ok when pressd but the Red light does not come on.

I just fixed same problem - lights ok, no motor.

!!! If you're going to attempt this make sure the hood is isolated from the mains !!!

I removed the switch box (remove greasy grilles, remove 2 small screws holding the box in place), and opened it by removing 4 further screws.

There was a burned out solder joint on the PCB which had effectively disconnected power to the switches. I cleaned and repaired it, then refreshed the rest of the solder joints as there were a few others which looked cracked. Mechanical stresses from the switches, I'm guessing.

It's now as good as new! Which is to say noisy and ineffective :D

i have avry similar problem, which I have traced to a dry joint on the timer PCB, where the Neutral switch leg pokes through the PCB. However when I tried re-soldering this, it ended up arcing across. You can buy new PCB boxes for about £45, but it would appear that this may be a common problem with the PCB.

Unless you are brave and know what you are doing, I would call in an electrician.
