how to fix my technics home stereo amplifier effected by surge?

model no se ch770 first fuse has blown,had replaced it,still not working.looks like transformer is burnt out,yellowy waxy substance running down sides.power surge that day .

Hi thair I have technics SL-EH760 cd deck and it won't play cd,s just skips to the next disk and still doesn't play :( can anyone help me please

Hi, If you have access to a digital voltmeter, on the AC volts range, check that you are getting voltage to the boards from the transformer. then you can find the biggest Capacitor, standing up on the main board and check that you have between 30 and 50 volts across the terminals on DC volts. Read the value on the side of the can, it will tell you that you are looking for a voltage say 10% less than that.
If the voltages are OK and still no sound, chances are that the outputs are blown. It is very unlikely that they will both go but if one blows, the protection system will shut down both!.
