Ahh, the Dirt Devil Vision Turbo. Works good, smells bad. If your Dirt Devil smells like smoke, its probably a siezed belt. Flip the unit over and remove the 5 phillips screws holding the nozzle guard plate on. (Its black and flat.) Pop it off and pull out the roller with great gusto and joy. Notice the black shavings in the belt line area? Bad belt. You might find the stinky belt has melted to the roller. Just pry it off angrilly. Pull the other end of the belt off the vacuum motor roller (its silver). The installation of a new belt is the reverse of removal, and a new belt should cost you under 8 bucks. Put it all back together and get back to work you lazy, lazy person. These instructions are for model 088400 Vision Turbo Upright, other models are similar.
