My head gasget?

My head gasget has gone three times now on my Rover 216. I have skipped corners and got it done cheap for £160, later to find out that it had not been skimmed or the bolts changed. If i get it done properly costing £350 will that be the end of it? I have heard Rovers are terrible for this problem. Some people have said it will go again no matter how much i spend on it?? Help me please.

could some one tell me the REALLY OBVIOUS TELL TALE SIGNS, of a blown head gasket on a rover 25.1400cc. 2002year low mileage 41000. at the moment i have to top the coolant up aboout every 3 weeks (about 1/2pint. & the oil about the same,) only doing low locall mileage. there are no obvious signs of leakadge from pipes ex no oil in the water, or water in the oil, no bubling in the coolant tank, all the garages give the same opinion with a nice hefty £500 bill. & say it will get worse. is there a chance this is one of this makes & modell many annoying routines, or am i really in trouble. As i have been told the car will be fine for the rest of its life once the head gakets been replaced. are there any rover owners with the same make & modell as mine any sugestions as i have been told this problem is VERY COMMON to this particular make modell, year ext? or are the cowboys trying to take me for a ride AGAIN! ?. many thanks for your time & patience. baz

If the head is properly skimmed and the block checked for any deformation as long as the modified head gasket and new bolts are fitted and correctly torqued up it should be good
