Water inside, washing machine stopped?

My washing machine has stopped, but it is full of water how can I get rid of the water before I open the door ?

Try to drain machine by running the outlet pipe into a bucket.
Check the filter unit for blockages.
Disconnect pump from sump hose and check for obstruction in either item.
