"Heater Relay is Stuck" on Indesit WD12 - help please?

My 18 month old Indesit WD12 (yup it's THAT one again) has just died on me, aborting a wash cycle a few minutes into it and giving me 8 flashes on the power light.

Indesit have informed me:
"The error with the light flashing eight times indicates that the heater relay is stuck. This could be a fault with either the pressure switch, heater or the module connections"

What exactly does this mean, and is it something I can repair myself, even if it's just a stop-gap measure so I can get the cash together to buy a half-decent machine.

Thanks in advance!
