sorry but you're asking for the impossible. The only way to get the radio working again is to book the vehicle in to your nearest VW garage. They will plug in their computer and it will give them a code. This code is then faxed over to VW HQ in Milton Keynes and they issue a new code valid for 24 hours only. The new code is then entered and hey presto the radio works. This unfortunately is VW's very tight security system. It does however mean that thieves know not to bother with VW factory fitted radios which is a good thing but annoying for people who just happened to disconnect their battery once.
