my sony NW-A1000 just died?

Ok my NW-A1000 is about a year old and other than a few drops on the floor its been ok. But recently it started freezing and i couldnt evn turn it off. I'd have to wait for hte battery to die then re charge. Then the other day it froze, and i waited for it to die but when i recharged it froze straight away and just had 'battery empty please charge' on the screen. now it wont even respond when i try to charge it or connect it to the computer. Tried sony FAQ and it just told me to reset it, tried that but nothing happened. Anyone know whats wrong and how to fix it?
Would be much appriciated as the guarantee ran out two month ago! :(

The sony player has a reset option to restore firmware settings to default values. Locate the access hole at the base of the player and using a small pin gently insert. This should sort you for the timebeing. I suggest that you should also goto the sony websight & dowload the latest firmware for the player.
