How can I fix my Kettle Philips filterline H D 4601?

The power between base unit and kettle is intermittent, ie; if you wiggle it , it may work . I have replaced the base component F06401N CS4817 OTTER but it still does not work , I have tried to remove the plastic base part from the kettle but it defies me at present and I am reluctant to force it. Please advise a course of action ! New Parts or New Kettle ?

This is a bit late given its now November, but someone else like me may look this up. Base part of actual kettle on the HD4601 slides straight downwards off the switch housing, and the switch housing itself clips onto the kettle body at the top, so push it upwards gently and detach. I found the switch connections were corroded, did temporary fix but will need new parts soonish.
I think my fix was very cost effective, I don't think you need to buy a new one! Cost nothing, kettle actually cost $90 Aus new 11 years ago, so about 40 quid. Excellent kettle and still going!

You can get spares online. Spares2go.co.uk
Make sure you determine which connector is broken - kettle or base. I bought the wrong one and then had to buy the other. Easy to fit yourself.

New kettle - a repair won't be cost effective.
