My hotwater header tank keeps overflowing. There is a leak from the ballcock valve not shutting fully. Do I change the whole ballcock assembly or is there another way.

I've just had the same problem fixed. Don't bother changing washers etc just change the ballcock. It will save you alot of messing about.

You can simply change the washer if you want - but often the valve will be crudded up with limescale and there are several different types....I usually pop a new complete valve in - either a plastic type or brass. If you replace like for like the chances are you won't need to alter any pipework.
