How can I fix my proview ma982 monitor?

my proview ma-982kc 19"tft monitor has power but remains on a blank screen .I have seen on this site that I need to replace the capacitors but am unsure which ones to use. Do I use ceramic, electrolytic or other type?

Also, just as a note, my monitor works fine for a couple of hours when first used, then goes black. If i leave it for a couple of hours i can then use it for an hour and so on...does this happen when capacitors go?

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated

If you have a separate PSU that plugs into the monitor, it might be that, if the mains lead plugs directly into your monitor, then it might be capacitors BUT beware, mains voltage is present and does not care about killing you! If in doubt, send it to somebody for repair, it should only cost around £50 to be repaired
