Do you have to be corgi registed to carry out this job as i have the same problem

Had same problem.
It's the diaphram that controls the water flow. I purchased a service kit and it cured my problem. To check if this is your problem, drop the front, turn on the water and check if the small pin protrudes and makes contact with the switch. (you will see what I am refering to).

the pump is purely for the heating & has no bearing on the hot water. the problem you have are genrally the symptoms of either the diverter valve or the flow switch. check in your user manual for identifications of these parts.
