put the drum plate on a piece of carpet or even grass - prevents damage to the sealing face. get a thin chisel and a heavy hammer (2pound) like a block hammer and just batter them out from the opposite side of the tub. Direct each blow onto opposing sides of the bearing ring to prevent them jamming. If its a plastic tub you may be able to get a tub half with the bearings already fitted if all else fails.
