the timer puts mains across a solenoid that operates a lever to release door flap.need 3 to 4 kohms across solenoid windings and mains at terminals.usually they mechanically fail and need replacing completely as whole unit.unless you do pre washes you might as well put tablet ontop of filter as it will work perfectly normally as the first thing it does once filled with water is release tablet anyway
