how do i fix my toshiba D-VR35SB?

I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE ABOVE MODEL. EVERYTIME I TRY TO RECORD EITHER WITH VIDEO+ OR STRAIGHT FROM THE RECORD BUTTON I GET A SYSTEM ERROR MESSAGE (EC:0506). I HAVE TRIED TURNING IT OFF AND ON AGAIN BUT NO SUCCESS.
