i have recently bought a hp compaq d330 all it had in it when i bought it was win xp everything seems to be working fine but i have no sound i have been into the device manager and all the drivers are there but theres no sound at all please help i love my music and its driving me nuts

Did you check that the sound has not been muted in the mixer / equalizer ? In the device manager CD/DVD see if the device is checked to play CD.
