Make sure that the float is not up at the top of the dirty water container, if so it will not suck at all and it will sound louder than normal. Also, make sure the top is on real good with the latches caught on both sides before you raise the handle up. If you drop the handle like I did that's when the float will go up to the top and it stops sucking, I guess it thinks it is full. The only way to fix it is to turn it off and wiggle it back and forth or take the tank out and shake it back down it will not fall on its own. If the brushes are not turning take them off the bottom and line them up again make sure the high/low/off switch is set to off when you take them out and replace them this lines them up so they will rotate. I learned how to take the cleaner apart and fix it the hard way, I loaned mine out and it came back nasty and would not suck up air much less water. Good luck, just take your time when sucking up the water the slower you pull the cleaner back toward you the better and cleaner it works.
