i retightened my bath and wash basin cold water taps. i switched of the mains water disconnected the taps and refitted them. Now when i flush the toilet i get a noise more or less straight after the system has refilled with water. i assume it is an air lock, how do i cure this problem.

Try using a tilling joint compactor on the tap housing case. Turn it anti clockwise beneath the filling level indicator. This should release the pressure cap causing a build up of low pressure in the boiler housing manifold. Turn all the cold taps on except the spindle tap which needs to be turned 46 degrees clockwise this will cause an air release and then turn the microwave on for 2 minutes at 700 watt or 1 minute at 800 watt adjusting the flux membrane every 0.5 of a second.
