How can I make my Sony DVD player give my movie back?

My Sony DVP-NC675P CD/DVD player will play the movie, the 5-disk changer drawer will open and close. But the disk won't drop back down into the tray so I can take it out. It seems to be stuck to the mechanism that picks it up from the 5-disk tray. I was online with Sony for ages trying to find out the problem, but the technician couldn't help. Gave me a link to send it away for repair. However, Sony will only replace it with a reconditioned one for $104, or repair it for even more. Can anyone help me try to fix it myself? Or at least get the disk out. Thanks!

My son took the cover off, removed the DVD (which was found to have a problem with the center hole being cracked), and the DVD player works perfectly now. And to think Sony wanted me to send it
in for a reconditioned replacement DVD player for the low, low cost of $104! :)
