Remove Mold from coffee maker?

I have Pink Mold in the reservoir of my Mr. Coffee Maker Model
# DRX20. Tried cleaning with white vinegar, failed to remove.
I called our local laboratory and was advised had no answer as to clean it out. Could the problem be , many are Plastic and made in China of materials that are not safe for us, as in the childrens drinking cups, just on recent news ?

I added Baking soda to the reservoir after pouring in Vinegar and water in the pot then ran thru and scrubbed down with a clean paper towell inside then changed water several times and ran thru Vinegar solution until my pot had no more scum in it. It was awful!!!! Then I spayed inside and out with my hot water sprayer on my sink.

I had the same problem. I searched and found the following post on the CookingLight site. Maybe try the vinegar again. Good luck.

The pink stuff is really a yeast that grows in damp places. It is also found on shower curtains, shower stalls, etc. Since yeast thrive in an alkaline environment (the soap in showers) using an acid substance will kill it, so using vinegar is the right way to go. Be sure and rinse well, since I don't think vinegary coffee is something you want!
