How do I mend a single levermono mixer kitchen tap?

How can I mend a single lever mono mixer Kithcen tap. Although it still works, and doesn't drip, it has become so stiff that it is difficult to use. We have used alan key to get the tip off. Now what? Anyone know. It is a Lyon from B and Q

Very useful point in the question about using an allen key to get the top off a single lever mixer tap that was very stiff to actuate. Simply loosened off the retaining nut, inside the removable top trim, about half a turn and all sorted.

my single mono mixer tap stopped working but is not stiff. i took off the lever then uncsrewed the top trim which reveals a retaining nut. when this is removed the single unit cassete inside is revealed. i had a broken part inside and after much searching have found a supplier, Lunns plumbing supplies. however the part i need costs more than the original tap and may buy another tap from ebay to use for spares. hope this helps. jean
