We bought this at Lowes. It has made a noise from beginning. Went there asked why and if we could get part or replace...was told NO..the box that has the long rod with the foil type stuff wrapped on it fits into what looks like a motor. It started screaming bad. Now..won't work at all. It has been sitting now for over year & half. Can't use it at all. Was trying many times to get Company who made it to see if they would replace part or fireplace . I am really upset to have paid so much for this and Lowes would not stand behind the product. How can we fix this thing?? It sits as a dust catcher.

The small synchronous motor which turns the flame effect rod has failed. They can be purchased from Dimplex and are easy to replace.
