Changing old light with a spotlight fixing?

We have changed the light fixing and the light is not switching off from the light switch. The wires are 2 black, 1 black which was marked red and 3 red wires and 1 earth.

Agree

all reds together
all black together and connect to black/blue of the light
all earths together
black with red tape to red/brown of light

job done

Should have said unmarked black(S) plural

There should be 2.They go together.

When you do this all the time you forget to make things plain enough.

Classic very common mistake.

All 3 reds go together with nothing else....put a terminal on them and tape it up.

The black with the red sleeve is your switched live and the unmarked black the neutral.

Connect the earth unless DI.

I am surprised another light isnt also in trouble

This is assuming your wiring is as it should be .
