water not getting into machine all the time, sometimes aye,somtimes no! Cant find any reason for this. The machine makes all the correct noises but does not actually wash the dishes

i own a de3542fs dishwasher and it keeps leaving my items covered in salt, i have lost the manual can any one help, i have cleaned all filter and i have put 3 cleaners through it but to no avail, does this dishwasher have a dial like the rinse aid if so where abouts is it, thanks
