Miele Novotronic w980 washing machine - flashing fault light?

The 'rinses' light is flashing and the machine will not run a program other than to fill with water then drain. This is followed by the beeping alarm. Turning dial to off, switching on/off etc. doesn't seem to clear the fault.
I would appreciate any ideas for fixing this fault.

ihave the same model my door wont open after a short wash ,there is water in the bottom sump of the machine if i tip it and let it run out only then does the door release. wot was ur problem in the end curious to know thanks dully.

Oh dear!! Brought in the serviceman this morning. It looks like one of the boards is faulty. A very expensive fault...
