Bosch Exxcel 1200 - Conditioner not being used/drained?

I have the above machine, and if I put some fabric conditioner liquid in the middle compartment, it does not seem to get used/drained by the end of the wash cycle. I have tried to clean out the "grids" above the powder and conditioner compartments, but this does not seem to fix the problem.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance.

Steve, Thanks for your detailed response. I will check and post back. What I find is that the powder in the powder dispenser gets flushed ok, but the conditioner in the fabric dispenser does not seem to get cleared.

John, I will try and check if the water is coming through into the dispenser area.

When I was trying to clean the "grids" above the dispensers, I noticed a lot of black deposits in the grids. I used a hand spray to try and clean this, but I expect that I need to open the lid to do this properly. I don't feel competent enough to do this. Any suggestions as to how I can get rid of the black "gunk" from the grid?

Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

Assuming that the machine rinses OK. The most probable reason is that the "comfort" valve is sticking or open circuit. SWITCH OFF AND UNPLUG FROM THE MAINS SUPPLY.
Remove the lid of the machine. At the back there are the 2 inlets for the water. Hot water is the single valve and cold the double. One side of the double valve opens for normal rinsing, but on the final rinse the other side opens to flood the conditioner compartment. This is not happening. Follow the rubber tubes to see which goes to the conditioner. Test the corresponding valve for continuity. If valve is OK then your trouble is on the electronic control panel.

The water does come from these 'grids' above the dispenser, as you say, and they frequently block up with soap splash. Can you see water coming down into the fabric conditioner compartment when it is supposed to?
