how can i fix my dishlex dx403?

my dishwasher doesn't seem to clean properly any more. Possibly not getting hot because it doesn't dry properly either.

Great answer from Solly, rectified my problem too.

Further info: remove the front panels from the washer by removing screws from inside the door's edge. The controller board is inside the white flip open box behind the top panel. The controller has a top piece and a bottom piece. Remove the wire connectors (take photos to remember where they go if necessary) and flip down the top circuit board to reveal the solder points and tracks.

The point I found burnt out was on one of the legs of the small black relay on the left hand side. put a drop of solder on and confirm the connection with a multimeter and you should be good to go.

Cheers,
Karl

My six year old Electolux Dishlex DX 403 dishwasher stopped heating the water. I found comments on the internet about burnt out solder joints in the control box. A friend opened the control box and found a blackened area on the back of the circuit board. Once the connection was re-soldered the water heated again. We also found that quite a few wires leading to the control box had overheated and the insulation had melted. Considering that this dishwasher was the top model from Electrolux at the time, I was not impressed. I had previously had a Vulcan Dishlex for almost 20 years.
Thanks to those people who previously posted information about this fault.

Hi Richard,
Mine too displayed the same problem - not heating, therefore not cleaning or drying properly (door still cold 20 minutes into cycle). I've found that there is a common (yet not often talked about) issue with a point on the controllers circuit board. If you remove the controller (simple to get at), remove the circuit board from the controller and flip it over you will see a 'burnt' solder joint on one of the legs to a black box component - resolder that joint and all should be well. Don't pause or open the door during a cycle as this seems to cause the joint to blow.
Cheers,
Solly
