i have recently installed a wireless router to my main pc in my daughters bedroom, i can only get an internet connection when sat next to the router or downstairs in my livin room, no where else, had a belkin router and didnt work so returned it and got belkin g+ it is still the same, whats wrong??

You have what is known as Electro Magnetic Interference. It can be cause by things like AV senders or other wireless networks. To deal with the latter download a program called Netstumbler. Use it to find out what channel your neighbours are using and then choose a different one in the router's wireless settings.
