my hotpoint aquarius 1100 keeps tripping my main fuse why?

my hotpoint aquarius 1100 (wm63)keeps tripping my main house fuse. i can switch in on and it will start for a bit then it will trip the mains.

1 heater element shorting out through the water hence the fuse is tripping strip and test the condition of the heater element
2 may have a motor fault of excess current,
seperate one a time to find out which is faulty
